Job summary

Toms River Regional Schools is seeking a full-time Grounds Keeper to maintain 18 schools and multiple facilities across over 520 acres. The role includes field line handling for events and operation of snow removal equipment and sprinkler systems.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A NJ driver’s license is required; CDL preferred.

Overview

GROUNDSKEEPER (Full Time) – Toms River Regional Schools

Location: Toms River Regional Schools. The district maintains 18 schools, 3 support facilities and over 520 acres across all campuses. Six athletic fields are artificial grass with heavy community use. Many sites are used for State Championship sporting events. The district is seeking Grounds Keeper positions. The selected candidates should demonstrate the following:

• a strong work ethic with time management skills
• commitment to detail
• team player with the ability to work independently at times with limited assistance
• CDL license preferred
• lawn sprinkler systems and time clock operation

Responsibilities

• Maintaining grounds — all facets
• Line handling of fields for all sporting events
• Knowledge and use of various types of snow removal equipment, augers for fence installation, chain saws for tree removal, small tools, lawn sprinkler systems, etc.
• Other duties as assigned to maintain facilities and support field operations
• Ability to assist with snow plow operations during winter is critical

Qualifications

• Valid NJ Driver's license; abstract will be required
• Computer skills a plus
