Job summary

POWERGROUP Resources is seeking a Grounds Person/Apprentice Arborist to support Arborwood Tree Service Inc. in outdoor tree care tasks, ensuring safe, efficient job sites and quality workmanship.

The role involves assisting with removals, pruning, site prep, brush work, equipment handling, and a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and reliability. Valid licenses and weather-ready fitness are required; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in landscaping, construction, or tree care.
• Valid G-Class driver's license; DZ license is an asset.
• First Aid & CPR Certification (or willing to obtain).
• Working at Heights Certification (or willing to obtain).
• Able to perform manual labour in all weather conditions; physically fit.
• Safety-conscious with a positive attitude and team orientation.
• Experience with chainsaws, wood chippers, and power tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist arborists with tree removals, pruning, and other arboricultural tasks.
• Prepare and clean up job sites before and after work.
• Drag and chip brush; operate ground equipment (chipper, chainsaw, etc.).
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
• Provide support to the crew to ensure efficient workflow.

• A valid G-Class driver’s license (DZ license is an asset)
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification (or willing to obtain)
• Working at Heights Certification (or willing to obtain)
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in all weather conditions
• Safety-conscious with a positive attitude
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
