Job summary

The Greenery Inc. is seeking a Grounds man to support ground operations across trimming projects. You will assist with pruning, debris removal, site setup and equipment movement, working closely with the Lead Trimmer to ensure efficient, safe tasks.

Responsibilities include operating ground equipment under supervision, following safety protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized worksite. Valid driver's license is required; prior landscaping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE (helmet, gloves, glasses)
• Monitor site for hazards and prevent accidents
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment and manage debris

The Grounds man is responsible for working on the ground to assist with various tasks such as pruning, clearing debris, managing equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment. The Grounds person will work closely with the Lead Trimmer to facilitate efficient and safe operations, contributing to the overall success of the trimming projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist lead tree trimmers by managing debris, clearing brush, and ensuring the work area is organized and safe.
• Help with the setup and breakdown of work sites
• Operate ground-based equipment such as trucks, trailer & pole saws under the direction of the crew foreman.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.
• Monitor the work site for potential hazards and take action to prevent accidents.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment, including managing and disposing of debris.
• Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and report any malfunctions to the foreman.
• Help with fueling, cleaning, and performing basic repairs on equipment as needed.
• Work closely with the tree trimming crew to support their activities and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Follow instructions from the foreman and senior trimmers to ensure that all operations run smoothly.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and manage work site activities.

Education And Experience

• Prior tree care, landscape, or related experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks

Salary Description $18 - $22 per hour
