Job summary

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 at Camp Rilea in Warrenton, Oregon. This is a permanent full-time state position represented by AFSCME.

Applicants should have a landscape-related degree or relevant experience and the ability to operate a variety of grounds equipment. Qualified candidates will meet the stated education/experience requirements and demonstrate willingness to work with and around pesticides, heavy equipment, and inclement weather.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in landscape technology, horticulture, turf management or closely related field AND six (6) months of landscape experience.
• OR two (2) years of landscape experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roads and grounds including turf management (mowing lawns, fields, training areas).
• Perform irrigation activities, fertilization and pesticide functions.
• Maintain flower beds; prune; roadways using tractors, mowers, blowers, weed eaters, brush cutters, chainsaws and other garden tools.
