Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team in Dolton, IL. This role focuses on basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of the facility on the first shift.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with competitive pay and benefits, including health coverage after 30 days, a 401(k) with company matching, and opportunities for growth. Training and tuition reimbursement support ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, basic welding knowledge, basic electrical knowledge.
• Ability to work on weekends and overtime;
• Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test;
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, power washing, painting and patching walls.
• Assist with basic repairs to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems under supervision.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, supplies, and work areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for company events or office reconfigurations.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
