Job summary

Clean Harbors in Dolton, IL is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. You will gain hands-on experience with building and equipment maintenance, performing routine tasks, and assisting with basic repairs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Plant maintenance experience in preventative maintenance, installations, welding or electrical work.
• Ability to work on weekends and overtime.
• Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, bending, reaching, climbing).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance: replace bulbs, unclog drains, power wash, paint and patch walls.
• Assist with basic repairs to electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems under supervision.
• Inspect buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, supplies and work areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for company events or office reconfigurations.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
