Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Specialist for a senior living community in Abilene, TX. The role maintains 29 acres, mowing, edging, shrub and tree trimming, and irrigation maintenance.

Tasks are performed largely independently with occasional vendor support and responsiveness to emergencies after hours. Qualified candidates have groundskeeping and building maintenance experience, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the ability to follow safety

• Irrigation system knowledge and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim shrubs and trees across 29 acres.
• Maintain irrigation systems and monitor water needs.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular hours.

About the Opportunity

The Grounds Maintenance Specialist maintains 29 acres of senior living property including mowing, edging, shrub and tree trimming, and irrigation maintenance. Performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance of outside vendor. Is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Ability to be self-supervising and self-motivating. Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must demonstrate a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance.
• Must possess knowledge of the following:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; must have clean driving record with no major violations.
• Must have prior experience in groundskeeping
• Must have prior experience in irrigation
