Job summary

Great Places Housing Group is seeking a Grounds Maintenance operative to carry out maintenance across communal grounds and open spaces, working with caretaking teams to keep environments clean, green and safe. You will operate hand and power tools and vehicles, perform daily defect checks, report damage and maintenance issues, and assist with snow and ice clearance as required.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, prior grounds maintenance experience, and excellent customer service

Qualifications

Full driving licence required.
Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Carry out grounds maintenance across Great Places schemes and communal environmental areas per the Grounds Maintenance Specification, including grass cutting, edging, hedge trimming, planting, spraying, and litter clearance.
Operate a range of hand tools and equipment (incl. power tools) and vehicles, perform daily defect checks, report issues and carry out basic maintenance.
Report graffiti, vandalism and repairs in external communal areas and defects to leadership.
Seasonally assist with snow and ice clearance, gritting and health and safety maintenance on schemes.
Adhere to quality standards and health and safety/COSHH requirements.
Conduct daily checks of vehicles and equipment and keep gear clean and stored correctly.
Work safely with herbicides/pesticides and report invasive weeds.
Report safeguarding concerns per organisation guidelines.
