# Grounds Maintenance IIIThe Lodge at Ventana Canyon - Tucson, AZ 85750## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeCategoryGeneral Labor## Description**SUMMARY**This position will perform a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. This role will perform semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work related to our golf courses. Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, edging, top dressing, treating turf and maintaining ball washers; mows fairways, putting greens, tees, and rough; maintains and performs repairs to the irrigation system; changes cups and tee markers; trims trees; pulls weeds; plants flowers, shrubs.**Duties/Responsibilities:*** Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment.* Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.* Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing.* Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).* Operates walking equipment for mowing greens collars and tees.* Assists with golf course set-up procedures.* Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways, and rough areas.* Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.* Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.* Operates sod cutter, trencher, and tamper for routine projects.* Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.* Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.* Perform skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).* Maintain flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.## Qualifications**Skills/ Abilities*** Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.* Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.* Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.**Education/Experience:*** One -month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.* Must be able to pass a background check.**Physical Requirements:*** Must be able to physically reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds.* Must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold, indoors/outdoors).* Must be able to work around chemicals, dust, fumes and/or odor hazards.* Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.* Must be able to work in a loud environment and in areas near moving mechanical parts.Ventana Canyon is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
