Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Mows fairways, greens, tees, and rough; maintains turf and irrigation systems.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers; trims trees; pulls weeds and maintains landscapes.
• Operates small machinery for edging, mowing, and maintenance tasks.
• Assists with course setup, fertilizer applications, and debris cleanup.
• Operates utility vehicles and riding equipment for material haul and mowing.

SUMMARYThis position will perform a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. This role will perform semi-skilled ground construction and maintenance work related to our golf courses. Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, edging, top dressing, treating turf and maintaining ball washers; mows fairways, putting greens, tees, and rough; maintains and performs repairs to the irrigation system; changes cups and tee markers; trims trees; pulls weeds; plants flowers, shrubs.Duties/Responsibilities:Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment.Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing.Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).Operates walking equipment for mowing greens collars and tees.Assists with golf course set-up procedures.Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways, and rough areas.Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.Operates sod cutter, trencher, and tamper for routine projects.Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.Perform skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).Maintain flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.Skills/ AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.Education/Experience:One -month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.Must be able to pass a background check.Physical Requirements:Must be able to physically reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds.Must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold, indoors/outdoors).Must be able to work around chemicals, dust, fumes and/or odor hazards.Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.Must be able to work in a loud environment and in areas near moving mechanical parts.Ventana Canyon is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
