Job summary

Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, and Hotel in Altoona, IA is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Team Member to care for the property grounds. The role features a 6am–4pm shift, Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays off, and a $20/hour wage with options for daily, weekly or biweekly pay.

You will keep grounds well maintained by planting and trimming grass, trees, flowers and shrubs; perform snow removal in winter; assist with barn and dorm maintenance and repairs; and ensure all equipment is kept in good working

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes required; safe driving record.
• Must pay close attention to detail and be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Indoor/outdoor work environment; ability to stand/walk for 8 hours; able to climb ladders.

Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have a valid Class B Driver's License (CDL with Air Brakes), a safe driving record, and must meet company insurance requirements. Previous experience preferred. Must pay close attention to detail. Indoor/outdoor work environment. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Ability to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift. Mowing on hills. Must be able to operate various kinds of equipment safely and cautiously. Will be on 24-hour call for snow removal during winter months. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and varied hours.
