Job summary

SolutionHealth is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to care for hospital grounds, performing landscaping, maintenance and snow removal to keep campus inviting and safe.

You will work 7am–3:30pm, coordinate with the Grounds Coordinator, and help maintain equipment while prioritizing safety and reliability across outdoor tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior landscaping, grounds maintenance or snow removal experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and maintains lawns and grass.
• Rakes leaves and cares for plants, trees and shrubs.
• Performs snow removal as directed.
• Keeps campus grounds clean and presentable.
• May repair outdoor furniture to maintain safety.
• Maintains landscape power equipment in good condition.
• Prioritizes safety.
• Reports unsafe conditions to Grounds Coordinator.

Who We Are

Healthcare facilities management, Maintenance, and Grounds keeping has the same purpose as any other maintenance department: to ensure optimal asset reliability and performance. We do this at The Elliot by proactively maintaining assets and infrastructures while also maintaining a respectable upkeep of the property.

About the Job

Maintains and cares for hospital grounds in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Grounds Coordinator. Perform a variety of landscaping, maintenance and snow removal duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Cuts and maintains lawns and grass.
• Rakes and maintains leaves, and cares for plants, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Performs snow removal activities such as shoveling in accordance with guidelines.
• Maintains and keeps campus grounds clean and free of debris for first impression and beautification.
• May perform basic repairs to outdoor furniture to maintain safe conditions.
• Maintains landscape power equipment in good operating condition.
• Stress safety as top priority.
• Informs Grounds Coordinator of any unsafe conditions.

Job Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and/or snow removal preferred.
• Abilities: Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Abilities: Ability to occasionally operate small powered landscape tools and equipment (lawn mower, weedwhackers, etc.) safely.
• Abilities: Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Abilities: Ability to work outside in the elements.
• Abilities: Ability to exhibit flexibility.
