Job Description

Perform groundskeeping and maintenance on cemetery, mausoleum, or funeral home properties, maintaining overall appearance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate mechanized equipment such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.
• Assist with interments and entombments, including grave excavation, casket placement, and crypt/niche front handling.
• Identify and locate interment/entombment spaces using cemetery maps.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of grounds maintenance experience; cemetery experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good record.

Additional Skills and Requirements

• Ability to operate large equipment like backhoes, tractors, and power lifts.
• Ability to read cemetery maps and identify locations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

Primarily outdoor work, exposure to weather, equipment, and chemicals, with physical demands including climbing, sitting, standing, and lifting.
