Under general supervision, this position involves skilled mowing and landscape work related to the care and upkeep of school district property. Employees may lead work crews in grounds maintenance, tree trimming, and related tasks, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards are met.

Examples of Essential Functions

• Responding to customer inquiries courteously and professionally.
• Leading work crews on landscape projects.
• Performing grounds maintenance such as mowing, edging, planting, and mulching.
• Maintaining shrubbery and trees through pruning and trimming.
• Operating district vehicles and various tools safely and effectively.
• Assisting with maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
• Ensuring safety and cleanliness of work sites.
• Maintaining accurate records of materials and supplies.
• Responding to emergencies and safety incidents promptly.

Minimum Training and Experience

High school diploma or GED, with at least three years of skilled landscaping experience demonstrating leadership and physical capability, or equivalent education and experience. Valid Florida Driver’s license required.
