Job summary

The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, is seeking a Groundskeeper I to perform manual work maintaining landscaped areas, lawns, hedges and adjacent sidewalks, using hand and power lawn tools and light motorized equipment.

Applicants must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license, and undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history check for SIDA clearance. Training and wage details are provided in the posting.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required for minimum qualifications.
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
• Physical ability to perform lifting and manual work up to 60 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license to operate in Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, care and maintenance of lawns, hedges and landscaped areas.
• Use hand and power lawn tools to perform maintenance tasks.
• Operate light motorized equipment as needed.
