Job summary

The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking a Groundskeeper I to perform manual grounds maintenance across airport grounds and landscaped areas. You will use hand and power tools, operate light equipment, and care for trees and shrubs. A valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license is required for appointment.

Experience is not required, training will be provided. Applicants must meet pre-employment checks including SIDA clearance and fingerprinting where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual work in cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds, lawns, hedges and plantings.
• Use hand and power lawn tools as part of daily maintenance.
• Operate light motorized equipment for grounds duties.
• Care for plants, trees and landscaped areas.
• Handle lifting, carrying and other manual tasks up to 60 pounds.
