Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Akron, IN seeks a Groundskeeper to maintain athletic fields and campus grounds, mow grass, weed, and perform basic equipment upkeep for events.

Winter duties include snow removal on driveways, parking lots and sidewalks; you may assist with custodial tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in all weather and cooperate with the facilities team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in grounds work and lawn care preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance.

• Prepare athletic fields for events.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED. Experience in grounds work to include maintaining Athletic Fields and snow removal. Additional experience in general maintenance is preferred.

Direct Responsibilities:

1. Maintain Athletic Fields
2. Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on all Corporation owned lawn equipment.
3. Prepare Athletic Fields for events.
4. Mow grass, weeding, spray for weeds, apply fertilizers and herbicides.
5. Must be able and willing to help others with maintenance, grounds and custodial as needed, corporation wide.
6. Responsible for snow removal on driveways, parking lots and sidewalks to include the spreading of salt.

Work Environment:

While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical equipment. Work on ladders, scaffolding, and high lifts. Exposed to all weather conditions. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals and be exposed to fumes and airborne particles.

Extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing.

Able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds regularly.

Able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb often in repetitive motion.
