Job summary

St. Luke is seeking a Building Engineer to perform exterior grounds maintenance for the building and courtyard, with duties including mowing, weeding, trimming, watering, mulching, planting, fertilizing and snow removal.

Inclement weather tasks may include cleaning, washing, lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment. Qualifications include 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or technical school completion preferred, and prior grounds keeping experience is preferred; must be physically

• High school graduate or graduate of a technical school preferred for grounds keeping duties.
• Previous experience in grounds keeping duties preferred.
• Physically capable of performing duties listed in duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of exterior grounds: mowing, weeding, trimming, watering, landscaping, mulching, planting, fertilizing, snow removal and sanding, and maintaining vehicles/equipment.
• Assist in maintenance, cleaning and washing, lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment during inclement weather.
• Other related duties as directed by Supervisor, Department Head and/or Administrator.

RESPONSIBLE TO

Building Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Primary responsibility is to perform grounds keeping needs of the exterior portions of the building, as well as the courtyard. During inclement weather, will assist in duties as directed by the Building Engineer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance of the exterior grounds consisting of mowing, weeding, trimming, watering, general conditioning of landscaping, mulching, planting, treating and fertilizing, snow removal and sanding, maintenance of St. Luke vehicles and equipment.
• During inclement weather will assist in Maintenance duties, cleaning and washing, lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment.
• Other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the Supervisor, Department Head and/or Administrator.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Exterior/interior building grounds
• Stands, sits, lifts, kneels, bends, climbs and works inside and outside in all weather.
• Subject to cuts and falls
• Heavy lifting and moving
• Subject to emergency call

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older due to the equipment use necessary to perform the job.
• High school graduate or graduate of a technical school preferred for performance of general grounds keeping duties.
• Previous experience in grounds keeping duties preferred
• Physically capable of performing duties that relate to exterior and interior work listed under duties and responsibilities.
• Existing employees must have a satisfactory work record in their prior positions.
