Job summary

Abilene ISD is seeking a Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping role responsible for the appearance and upkeep of district grounds, athletic fields, and irrigation systems across campuses.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license, and the ability to operate power-driven equipment. Candidates should be proactive, reliable, and capable of following safety procedures while delivering quality grounds care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Clear and valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to understand written or oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate power-driven equipment.
• Willingness to learn landscaping and irrigation.

Responsibilities

• Mow and detail district grounds, including athletic fields.
• Care for lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers (watering, pruning, fertilizing).
• Plant shrubs and vegetation and prep athletic fields for games.
