Job summary

Purdue University is seeking an outdoor service/maintenance staff member to help upkeep over 70 acres of grass playfields and outdoor facilities. You will perform turf maintenance and general grounds keeping tasks as part of Recreation & Wellness.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years of grounds keeping or maintenance experience, the ability to lift 60 pounds, operate commercial equipment, and use hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of grounds keeping or maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform manual work for extended periods.
• Ability to operate commercial grounds/lawn equipment.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret verbal and written instructions, schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf and grounds across 70 acres of fields and facilities.
• Perform maintenance on indoor and outdoor equipment and facilities.
• Assist with basic mechanical, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and fabrication work.
