Job summary

Aztec Municipal School District is seeking a Grounds Worker to maintain district grounds, ensuring a safe, efficient, and exemplary environment for students and staff. The role reports to the Grounds Supervisor and requires attention to safety, equipment operation, and timely maintenance.

Starting immediately, the position involves heavy outdoor work, equipment operation, and collaboration with external contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience
• Demonstrate communication skills
• Demonstrate public relations skills
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Ability to perform job responsibilities
• Valid New Mexico Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Follow local, state, and federal law; adhere to regulations and district policy.
• Diagnose problems with mechanical equipment using diagnostic equipment.
• Prescribe solutions for turf, trees, and vegetation issues and pests.
• Advise Grounds Supervisor on district grounds conditions after inspections.
• Work with outside contractors to ensure high standards.
• Operate safely tractors, forklifts, mowers, PTO equipment, and more.
• Maintain attractive, safe district grounds and foster pride in maintenance.
