Job summary

The Marcus Corporation, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI, is seeking a Grounds Crew member to maintain fairways, greens and landscape. You will operate mowing equipment, edge, fertilize, rake sand traps, and help prepare the course for golfers.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, outdoor work in extreme weather, and flexible weekends/holidays. Benefit includes free meals per shift, employee discounts, and parking.

Qualifications

• Familiar with lawn care tasks (mowing, landscaping, grounds maintenance, weed-eating, trimming, raking, debris cleanup) preferred
• Flexible availability; ability to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and with mechanical equipment

Responsibilities

• Operate mowing equipment to maintain fairways, greens, roughs, and tees at target heights
• Trim and edge around trees, shrubs, pathways, sand traps, and other features for a neat appearance
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed to maintain plant health
• Rake and level sand traps; ensure traps are debris-free and well-shaped
• Prepare all areas of the course for golfers; restock ball washers and verify signage accuracy
• Remove leaves and debris; keep the course tidy and presentable
• Work outside in extreme heat and cold; perform duties with minimal supervision

What will you be doing?

• Operate various types of mowing equipment to maintain fairways, greens, roughs, and tees at the desired height and appearance
• Trim and edge around trees, shrubs, pathways, sand traps, and other features to maintain a clean and polished look
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed to maintain plant health and appearance
• Rake and level sand traps, ensuring they are free of debris and properly shaped
• Ensure all areas of the course are ready for golfers, including restocking ball washers and ensuring signage is accurate
• Remove leaves, branches, and other debris from the course to maintain a tidy appearance
• Ability to work outside in both extreme hot and cold weather conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

What do you bring to the role?

• Familiarity with lawn care tasks (lawn mowing, landscaping, grounds keeping, grounds maintenance, weed-eating, trimming, raking, debris blowing, hand weeding, garbage/litter pick up, planting, watering, fertilizing, etc.) preferred
• Flexible availability, must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to multitask and efficiently complete tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and kneel continuously and lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Comfort with mechanical equipment
