Job summary

The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a Grounds Crew member for Golf Course Maintenance to support the care of our championship course and club grounds. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical outdoor work and take pride in a well‑kept golf environment.

You will work under the Golf Course Superintendent, performing turf and landscape tasks, operating equipment, and assisting with irrigation and special projects.

Qualifications

• Must have landscaping or grounds experience.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Open to students for summer or seasonal work; flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turfgrass, landscaped areas, and club grounds.
• Mow, trim, blow, and perform general landscape upkeep.
• Rake bunkers and maintain sanded areas; prune trees and shrubs.
• Water, fertilize, and care for flowers and native grasses.
• Operate landscaping equipment safely; assist irrigation repairs and maintenance.
• Support special projects around the Club as needed.

What You’ll Do

Working under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, you’ll help maintain the golf course and surrounding club properties, including:

• Maintaining turfgrass, landscaped areas, and facility grounds
• Mowing, trimming, blowing, and general landscape upkeep
• Raking bunkers and maintaining sanded areas
• Pruning trees, shrubs, and maintaining plant health
• Watering, fertilizing, and caring for flowers and native grasses
• Keeping club grounds clean and free of debris
• Assisting with irrigation repairs and maintenance
• Operating landscaping equipment and machinery safely
• Supporting special projects around the Club as needed

Your work directly contributes to the appearance and quality of the entire member experience.
