Job summary

A premier golf management company is seeking a Groundskeeper responsible for maintaining the landscaping and upkeep around the golf course. Key responsibilities include mowing grass, watering greens, repairing irrigation systems, and applying fertilizers and pesticides. Ideal candidates should have experience in landscaping design and maintainability skills, including seeding and fertilizing. Multiple full-time and part-time positions are available immediately in Cape Charles, Virginia.

Qualifications

• Ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping.
• Experience with operating greens/fairway mowers preferred.
• Ability to create spray programs for various course areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean work areas on the golf course.
• Mow greens, fairways, and other areas.
• Water tees, greens, and fairways as needed.
• Repair the irrigation system and components.
• Prepare soil and lay sod and seeds.
• Trim and prune hedges and shrubbery.

Job description

The Groundskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Multiple full-time and part-time positions available immediately.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Must possess the ability design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course
• Experience with operating greens/fairway mowers preferred
• Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping
• Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations
• Ability to give oral and written instructions
• Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
• Must be dependable

Responsibilities:

• Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
• Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
• Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager
