Job summary

Colonial Group in Connecticut is seeking a Greens Maintenance Crew Member to sustain high course conditions and playability. You will support daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and surrounding grounds, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, good English communication, and the ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation starts at $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough areas.
• Mow greens, tees and fairways per schedules and standards.
• Rake bunkers and maintain sand presentation.
• Assist with irrigation, hand-watering, and basic repairs.
• Edge, trim, and maintain landscaping around course features.
• Operate and maintain maintenance equipment safely.
• Inspect equipment before and after use.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and club policies.
• Support course setup and cup cutting and marker placement.
• Assist with events, tournaments, and outings.

Job description

Position Overview:

The Greens Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for maintaining the golf course at a high standard of playability and appearance. This role supports daily course maintenance operations, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and surrounding grounds—while adhering to safety standards and delivering conditions that enhance the overall member and guest experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough areas
• Mow greens, tees and fairways according to established schedules and standards
• Rake bunkers and maintain sand consistency and presentation
• Assist with irrigation system operation, hand-watering, and basic repairs
• Edge, trim, and maintain landscaping around course features and facilities
• Safely operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, blowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles
• Clean, fuel, and perform basic inspections of equipment before and after use
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and club policies
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues
• Assist with course setup, including cup cutting, tee marker placement, and course accessories
• Support special events, tournaments, and outings
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of maintenance facilities and work areas
• Perform other grounds-related duties as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Experience:

• Preferred: Golf Course maintenance, landscaping or grounds maintenance experience

• Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Schedule:

• Days TBD
• Hours vary based on workload
• Flexibility required to work early mornings, weekends, holidays or extended hours during peak golf season

Compensation:

• $17.50 starting wage
