Job summary

Hornig Companies is seeking a part-time Buildings and Grounds technician in the Chaska area. The role involves grounds maintenance, turnover cleaning, pest control support, and light maintenance on a variety of equipment.

Responsibilities include lawn care, snow removal, trash-outs, and safety-focused operation of machinery. Ideal candidates have a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a small-team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operator license (CPO) within 2 months of employment.
• Some knowledge of operating light machines like snow blowers, lawn mowers, trimmers or carpet cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements.
• Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks).
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation and information look-up.
• Multi-housing experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Grounds: Lawn care, snow removal, and home office grounds upkeep; coordinate equipment and supplies between properties.
• Building Assistant: Turnover cleaning, trash-outs, pest extermination support, light maintenance, seasonal tune ups.
• Misc Duties: Cleaning, vehicle/equipment maintenance, and safety practices; assist with daily supervisor meetings and company projects.
