Job summary

The Charles at Bexley is seeking a Grounds and Waste Management Team Lead to oversee grounds maintenance and waste management for a luxury apartment community in Columbus, OH. You will lead a team of groundskeepers and waste personnel, assign tasks, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will design landscaping plans, inspect grounds, oversee outdoor amenities, coordinate with contractors, and implement compliant waste strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of landscape design principles and horticultural practices.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of waste management regulations and best practices is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of groundskeepers and waste management personnel; assign tasks, schedule work orders, and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to maintain high standards of performance.
• Design and implement landscaping plans to enhance the property’s aesthetic appeal; inspect grounds regularly for lawn care, irrigation, pruning, and planting needs.
• Oversee upkeep of outdoor amenities including pools, playgrounds, and recreational areas.
• Coordinate with contractors to maintain and develop landscaping plans.
• Develop and implement waste management strategies, coordinate waste disposal and recycling programs in compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor waste collection schedules and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain inventory of landscaping supplies, tools, and equipment; coordinate repairs and maintenance of machinery and vehicles.
• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Coordinate snow removal for the property, which may require attention outside of business hours.
