Job summary

Asplundh is seeking a Ground person to join our crew in North Carolina. This role involves performing work from ground level and underground, preparing materials on the ground for installation by line personnel, and possibly flagging traffic.

OSHA-style safety and PPE adherence are essential. The candidate must be able to read and understand instructions, communicate clearly, lift up to 60 pounds occasionally, and sustain activity for a full eight-hour shift in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.
• Must be able to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must have endurance to perform duties through an eight-hour day.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from ground and underground as required.
• Excavates to assist in installing structures or cable per contract.
• Assembles material on the ground for installation by line personnel.
• Flag traffic as needed and may require training.
• Operate various tools (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jackhammers).
• Work around hazardous equipment and energized parts.
