Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a dedicated Groundperson to support vegetation management for utility partners and other customers. You will work outdoors, operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers, and assist climbers from the ground.

Travel to multiple job sites is common, with safety as a priority. We offer ESOP, paid training, and competitive pay along with health benefits and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Groundperson certification or ability to complete it.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather; physical ability to hike, lift 50 lbs, and handle tools.
• CPR/First Aid certification (provided by Lewis); herbicide applicator certification or ability to obtain.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation and debris from work sites around power lines (tree pruning, vegetation removal, etc.).
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Assist climbers by spotting from the ground, handing up tools, and using hand lines.
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees.
• Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards in the work area.
• Apply herbicides with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized trucks and job sites.
• Set up traffic control zones and direct traffic as needed.
• Travel frequently to different job sites (including overnight stays).
• Participate in safety briefings and follow company protocols.
