Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring for a CDL Groundperson in Edison, NJ, within Davey Utility Line Clearance. This on-site role supports crew members by handling lowering ropes, supplying tools, and managing traffic control while performing trimming, chipping and cleanup tasks.

Qualified candidates will have a CDL with airbrake endorsement, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications or licenses.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Required: CDL with airbrake endorsement.
• Certificates and Licenses if necessary.
• Pesticide license, if required by state law.
• Herbicide license a plus.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Control lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft to support crew.
• Supply tools for tree workers.
• Control road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods.
• Cut, chip and load brush and wood, with proper job site cleanup.

Job Duties

• Provides support for the other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft
• Supplying tools for tree workers
• Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods
• Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• REQUIRED: Commercial driver's license with airbrake endorsement
• Certificates and Licenses if necessary
• Pesticide license, if required by state law
• Herbicide license a plus
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
