Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman - Underground for maintenance work with Greystone Power. You will assist the crew in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems and report to the Foreman.

This role requires outdoor work in varying weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel or be on-call for outages. Safety is a top priority, with PPE and strict adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators).
• Work outdoors in varying weather and outdoor environments.
• Travel long distances on short notice and be on-call for outages.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE usage for all tasks.
• Inspect PPE and understand when to wear protective equipment.

Job description

Groundman - Underground (Greystone Power) (Maintenance)

The Groundman position is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will assist your team in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems. You will report to the Foreman.

Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.

Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.

Maintain excavation equipment to include backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.

Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.

Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.

Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.

Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.

Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.

Willing to travel long distances on short notice.

Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work for extended periods at job locations, including out ‑ of ‑ state assignments.

Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at constructions job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
