Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman in the United States, particularly the North Carolina area. This entry-level position supports construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems under the Foreman’s supervision.

It emphasizes safety, physical effort, and outdoor work across various weather conditions. Responsibilities include assisting with new construction, equipment maintenance, and critical outages or emergency callouts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at various job locations, including out-of-state.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems with safety first.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling gear.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storm conditions.
• Be available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and insulating protective gear guidelines.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE and understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
