Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will work with a foreman on outdoor projects, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in outages and emergencies to keep power lines operating.

This entry-level field position requires a valid driver's license, willingness to travel, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and availability for extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice
• Lift/cull/pull up to 50 pounds
• Extended work locations including out-of-state assignments
• Willing to work outside normal hours including weekends/holidays/overtime

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety
• Assist in installing and repairing overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order
• Work outdoors in varied conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storms
• Be available for outages, emergencies and on-call rotations
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective cover requirements
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE and understand PPE usage
• Perform rigorous physical labor as required
