Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Groundman in Shreveport, LA to support underground electrical distribution construction and maintenance.

You will work under the Foreman to assist with building, repairing, and maintaining underground systems, performing physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ideal candidates are physically capable, willing to travel, and prepared to obtain a CDL within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and extended hours.
• On‑call rotation for outages, storms, emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction and maintenance of underground distribution systems.
• Help install and repair underground facilities and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators).
• Work outdoors in extreme conditions and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE properly.
