Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking a Groundman in Richland, MS. The role supports Lineman in construction, repair, and storm restoration, ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are prepared and ready for operations.

You will help with loading, unloading, and moving materials, while maintaining safe, orderly worksites. The position is entry-level with supervision, but requires ability to travel, lift 50 lbs, and work long or irregular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel 100% of the time.
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must possess a valid CDL-A driver’s license.
• Live within one-hour drive of Richland, MS.
• No intrastate restriction (K) on CDL.
• Own hand tools.
• Good driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to travel at a moment’s notice.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to hear from a long distance.
• Must be able to see long distances and differentiate colors with depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and prepares vehicles with tools and materials for daily jobs.
• Assists Lineman in power line construction, repair, maintenance and storm restoration.
• Maintains and stocks trucks with materials used daily.
• Prepares equipment and worksite for assigned tasks.
• Assists with washing and maintaining equipment in working order.
• Drives and operates Chain vehicles; keeps areas clean and organized.
• Safely uses hand and power tools; assists with pole framing on the ground.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
