Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. seeks an Asphalt Plant Groundman in the Upstate SC area with travel to Greer and nearby towns. You will safely operate and maintain asphalt plant equipment, determine material quantities, adjust controls, monitor temperatures, and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

Strong teamwork and reporting are essential. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with a full-time day shift, occasional night/weekend work, and opportunities for advancement.

• Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safely operating and maintaining the asphalt plant and construction equipment to ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced as needed.
• Determining proper quantities of materials needed to produce asphalt
• Adjusting controls to regulate the flow of materials
• Maintaining the speed of systems
• Ensuring the plant is operating at the proper temperature.
• Perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Monitor inventory levels of all mix materials.
• Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed.
• Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Troubleshoot, problem solve and successfully discuss production problems with co-workers and supervisors.
• Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as needed. Enters reports into computer system.
• Clean control house and yard facility daily.

Rogers Group is currently seeking a candidate to fill an ASPHALT PLANT GROUNDMAN position in the Carolinas at the Upstate, SC ,traveling to but not excluding Greer, Lyman, Gray Court, Gaffney, Anderson, reporting to area plant manager. Starting pay $21 an hour, the successful candidate must be willing to travel, and able to develop working relationships with others and vendors, responsible for safely operating and maintaining equipment.
