Job summary

TekCom Resources, Inc. seeks a Construction Superintendent for ground-up commercial projects in Fort Wayne, IN. You will oversee site construction, coordinate with the Project Manager, and ensure safety compliance on every shift.

You will lead subcontractors, manage schedules, prepare daily field reports, and liaise with inspectors to obtain permits and occupancy certifications. Experience in commercial construction and read plans is required.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in commercial construction.
• Must be proficient with email and submitting daily reports.
• Strong time management to handle multiple priorities daily.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to work with diverse personalities.
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience on building construction projects.
• OSHA 10/30, CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Construction Project Manager throughout the project.
• Lead jobsite safety meetings and maintain safety log.
• Ensure the job-site is maintained in a clean, safe manner.
• Rectify any job site hazards immediately.
• Prepare daily reports and field documentation.
• Create and manage project punch lists with subcontractors and customers.
• Obtain necessary permits and schedule municipal inspections.
• Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
• Manage multiple subcontractors and vendors to meet specifications.
• Oversee weekly coordination meetings and inspect work for quality.
• Manage construction scheduling on a tight timeline.
• Order materials and schedule inspections as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and staff.
• Review contract documents with team members to ensure compliance.
• Track and manage closing documents (RFIs, Submittals, Punchlists).
