Commercial Construction Estimator

Location: Greater Phoenix area

Salary Range: $75,000 - 115,000 (plus benefits)

TLW Construction, a reputable commercial general contractor established in 1983, is seeking a motivated and professional Ground Up Commercial Estimator to work with the VP of Preconstruction. The estimator will assemble and organize complete project bids for ground-up commercial projects ranging from $2 million to $20 million. Job Responsibilities:

• Create data-driven conceptual preliminary project budgets
• Write subcontractor scopes and assist project managers through buyout
• Manage the entire bid invitation process
• Assist in subcontractor prequalification
• Create conceptual and bid-phase project schedules
• Facilitate clear communication and maintain strong client relations
• Qualify subcontractor bid-phase RFIs and manage document control communication with the design team
• Establish detailed, qualified, complete, and competitive project proposals and bid clarifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or Business
• Proficient in MS Office suite
• Experience with scheduling software (MS Project or similar)
• High-level plan reading comprehension for civil, architectural, structural, and MPE design
• Strong technical and motivational writing and communication skills
• Ability to analyze and comprehend complex project cost models
• High proficiency in MS Excel
• Experience with web-based project management programs (Procore is a plus)
• Self-driven, organized, and an effective negotiator
• Minimum of 3 years of estimating/project management experience in commercial construction
