Job Description

We are a Commercial General Contractor looking for an experienced estimator. This individual must have experience in Commercial General Contracting, Residential need not apply.

This individual MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM BUDGET PROPOSALS WITH LIMITED INFORMATION. A large percentage of our work consists of Design Build ground up construction, and Tenant Improvements.

Essential Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develop Budget Numbers
• Prepares construction budget by studying plans, identifying and projecting cost for each division
• Evaluate cost effectiveness (Value Engineer)
• Submit customized reports to clients
• Re-figure costs estimates when necessary
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying, qualifying and quantifying subcontractors’ bids.
• Prepare proposals and Exhibits

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Must have strong math and science skills
• Must be detail oriented.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of how to read and comprehend blueprints/drawings
• Knowledge of all trades
• Good interpersonal skills a MUST
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Must have strong computer skills, especially knowledge of spreadsheets
• Ability to use file transfer programs to send large drawing files to trade partners
• Knowledge of how to use project management software and construction scheduling software
• Project management skills a plus
