Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, Alabama is seeking a Ground Test Inspector (Contract) to join the Manufacturing team. You will prepare the aircraft, conduct ground tests on avionics and electrical systems, and document issues in SAP NC to enable rework and retesting.

The role requires deep avionics experience, troubleshooting on aircraft systems, and familiarity with A320/A220 family operations. This on-site position offers opportunities for development within Airbus U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5+ years preferably as an Aircraft Avionics Technician with a focus on aircraft systems (electrical preferred) or experienced Quality Inspector in avionics systems in an international aviation.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting on aircraft systems.
• Experience in A320/A220 Family type rating is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground tests: prepare aircraft and workstation surroundings for ground tests on avionics and electrical systems; perform function tests and organize documentation of non-conformities in SAP NC; initiate retests after rework.
• Perform troubleshooting on test systems and aircraft systems; prepare and coordinate troubleshooting; clarify problems with engineering.
• Support improvement measures: identify problems to improve on time and on quality production; perform other duties as assigned.

Airbus is looking for a Ground Test Inspector (Contract) to join our Manufacturing team in Mobile, Alabama.

Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges

• Perform ground tests
  • Prepare the aircraft and workstation surroundings for ground tests on various avionics and electrical systems, in a safe environment. Perform function tests on all systems (flight controls, navigation, passenger entertainment, etc.) in parallel to the assembly of the aircraft from beginning to Flight Testing. Organize documentation of any non-conformity in the SAP NC system and initiate associated retests (Repeat Test Instruction) after finalization of rework.
• Perform troubleshooting (T/S)
  • Perform T/S on test systems and on aircraft systems. Prepare and coordinate troubleshooting and distinguish error types. Clarify problems with the engineering department.
• Support improvement measures
  • Identify problems internally in order to continuously improve the "On Time On Quality" production process.
  • Other duties as assigned
