Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Ground Test Inspector (Contract) to join the Manufacturing team in Mobile, Alabama. The role focuses on preparing for ground tests, wiring and testing avionics systems, and documenting non-conformities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of avionics/quality inspection experience, troubleshooting skills on aircraft systems, and a preference for A320/A220 familiarity. This is an on-site, contract position in Mobile with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of experience in aircraft avionics/quality inspection.
• 3+ years of troubleshooting on aircraft systems.
• A320/A220 family type rating is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground tests: prepare aircraft and workstation, test avionics and electrical systems, document non-conformities in SAP NC and coordinate retests.
• Perform troubleshooting on test and aircraft systems and coordinate with engineering.
• Contribute to continuous improvements to the On Time On Quality production process.
• Other duties as assigned.

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges

• Perform ground tests
  • Prepare the aircraft and workstation surroundings for ground tests on various avionics and electrical systems, in a safe environment. Perform function tests on all systems (flight controls, navigation, passenger entertainment, etc.) in parallel to the assembly of the aircraft from beginning to Flight Testing. Organize documentation of any non-conformity in the SAP NC system and initiate associated retests (Repeat Test Instruction) after finalization of rework.
• Perform troubleshooting (T/S)
  • Perform T/S on test systems and on aircraft systems. Prepare and coordinate troubleshooting and distinguish error types. Clarify problems with the engineering department.
• Support improvement measures
  • Identify problems internally in order to continuously improve the "On Time On Quality" production process.
• Other duties as assigned

Your Boarding Pass

• Education
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years preferably as an Aircraft Avionics Technician with a focus on aircraft systems (electrical preferred) or experienced Quality Inspector in avionics systems in an international aviation
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting on aircraft systems
  • Experience in A320/A220 Family type rating is beneficial
