Job summary

Varda is seeking a Mission Software Engineer to advance its ground segment software, enabling telemetry, commanding, data acquisition, and mission control interfaces across lab and space environments.

You will contribute to real-time data services, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable architectures using Python, Docker, and Kubernetes, on-site in El Segundo, CA, with a strong emphasis on safety-critical software practices.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, engineering, or equivalent with safety-critical software exposure.
• 3+ years building spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Strong Python proficiency and understanding of real-time concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-reliability ground segment services for telemetry and commanding.
• Deliver operator dashboards and UI to optimize operations.
• Build simulation and test automation tools for avionics and GNC teams.
• Define and productionize mission platform software with CI/CD and IaC.
• Create deployment patterns for lab and mission networks with safe rollout strategies.
