Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Ground Systems (Mission) Software Engineer II to own and evolve the ground segment software that enables spacecraft operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience developing safety-critical software for spacecraft or similar domains.
• Proficient in Python with strong language fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own Ground Segment Services: develop and maintain high-reliability telemetry ingestion, scaling, distribution, and commanding services.
• Deliver operator-grade Mission Control Interfaces: dashboards and UIs to optimize ops time and reduce cognitive load.
• Build simulation and test automation tools for flight software, device emulators, and scenario-based automated tests.
• Design and productionize the mission platform: CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and observability tooling for self-service deployment.
• Create robust deployment patterns across lab benches, test stands, and mission networks.
