Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Mission Software team, focusing on ground-segment systems that enable spacecraft operations. You will work on telemetry ingestion, data distribution, and real-time control interfaces for mission-critical environments.

The role emphasizes building simulations, device emulators, and automated tests, with emphasis on CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability across lab and flight environments. On-site in El Segundo, CA.

Qualifications

• Experience developing safety-critical software for spacecraft or similar domains.
• Strong Python programming capabilities and real-time data handling.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, IaC, observability, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Own ground-segment services for telemetry ingestion, distribution, and commanding.
• Develop operator-grade UIs and dashboards to optimize operations.
• Build flight-software simulations, device emulators, and test automation tools.
• Design and productionize software with CI/CD, IaC, and reusable templates.
• Implement deployment patterns across lab benches, test stands, and mission networks.
