Job summary

Rocket Lab is hiring a Ground Systems Engineer in Los Angeles to design and integrate mechanical systems for Electron/Neutron platforms. You will work hands-on with hardware, develop schematics and BOMs, and collaborate across engineering to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

The role requires a degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or CAD-oriented field, plus experience reading drawings and working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in aerospace/mechanical disciplines or CAD engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with structural design and industrial equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems including vehicle interfaces, structures, mechanisms, and fluid systems.
• Develop schematics, P&IDs, process diagrams, and BOMs to support hardware builds.
• Work with vendors and production teams to optimize manufacturability and reliability.
• Support test planning, execution, and data analysis for component- and system-level tests.
