Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Mechanical Test & Launch Operations Engineer to join the Ground Systems team. You will operate Electron and Neutron launch ground systems during tests and launches, and support pad infrastructure, GSE, and facility systems across countdown and flight operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 1+ years in design, test, or operations, with 2+ years of related experience considered for substitution. VA-based base pay ranges and US benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aero/Mech/Elec/Chem/Mechatronic).
• 1+ years in engineering design, test and/or operations, focusing on electrical/software engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant experience may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Operate Electron and Neutron launch ground systems as a launch console operator during tests, rehearsals, and launches.
• Support development, integration, and testing of launch pad infrastructure, GSE, and facility systems.
• Lead and execute testing campaigns, including GSE commissioning and ground system readiness checks.
• Manage configuration and verification of launch pad hardware and facility systems.
• Develop operational procedures, test plans, and emergency response protocols for ground operations.
• Design and improve HMIs for ground control systems to enhance operator efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues during test and launch operations.

Education
