Job summary

SES Space & Defense seeks a Ground Systems Architect to provide technical and operational leadership across ground system programs. You will guide a multi-disciplinary engineering team, drive design, testing, and deployment from proposal through on-orbit operations, and ensure alignment with customer needs and program objectives.

The role emphasizes systems engineering, cross-functional collaboration, and rigorous program controls, with a focus on delivering mission-ready ground segment

Qualifications

• M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional team activity across design, development, testing, and operations for ground systems.
• Define ground and mission operations requirements and trace them to space-system engineering.
• Provide technical oversight for ground segment IPTs and manage schedule, cost, and scope.
• Engage with customers and subcontractors to align program objectives and deliverables.
• Develop MBSE artifacts (CONOPS, system architecture, interface documents) and verify ground segment requirements.
