Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Ground Systems Software Engineer 3 for Vulcan Development in Denver. The role involves maintaining and developing software for real-time command, control, and monitoring of avionics and ground support equipment, with independent contribution and potential ASE responsibilities.

The candidate will work in an Agile team, collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and operations to deliver mission-critical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 4+ years of related work experience
• Experience working on an agile development team
• Experience independently designing, developing, and delivering solutions to difficult software/hardware problems
• Experience presenting hardware/software system architecture and designs to both internal audiences as well as external customers
• Experience in authoring, executing, and reviewing software products and their implementation throughout the full software development life cycle
• Experience with object-oriented designs and languages
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with Software Configuration Management practices including Agile Methodologies
• Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Software Design Principles
• Configuration Management practices and tools such as Git
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop new software products for command, control and monitoring of the Vulcan launch vehicle's avionics suite and ground support equipment
• Work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test software solutions
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on development for real-time software systems
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and users to deliver high-quality software that meets stakeholder needs
