Job description

Skyborne Airline Academy is seeking skilled and passionate Ground School Instructors to deliver high-quality theoretical knowledge instruction to both U.S. and international students. Instructors are responsible for delivering training in accordance with Skyborne's rigorous standards and regulatory requirements, supporting students enrolled in FAA Part 141, UK CAA, and EASA-approved training programs.

Ground School Instructors will receive comprehensive training and standardization to deliver UK CAA/EASA theoretical knowledge instruction in addition to FAA ground school courses. In this role, instructors will report to both the Skyborne U.S. Chief Ground Instructor and the UK/EASA Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver FAA ground school instruction to students following completion of Skyborne's instructor standardization program.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of course presentations, lesson plans, training materials, and study resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate student academic progress, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare, maintain, and accurately document student training records.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable learning objectives, regulatory requirements, and training standards.
  • Assist with administrative and operational duties that support the U.S. Chief Ground Instructor and UK/EASA Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor.
  • Ensure compliance with all Skyborne training policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Promote and communicate company policies, procedures, and best practices throughout the academy.
  • Review and maintain training documentation, manuals, and courseware to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver training that supports Skyborne Airline Academy's commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and training excellence.
Qualifications
Professional Requirements
  • Experience delivering FAA Ground School instruction, preferably within an FAA Part 141 training environment; experience under other aviation regulatory authorities will also be considered.
  • FAA Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) certificate required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated passion for mentoring and inspiring future commercial aviation professionals.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic training environment.
  • Strong customer-service mindset and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with a diverse international student population.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or employment restrictions.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, background investigation, and, where applicable, TSA badging requirements.
