Job Overview

Raytheon (RTX) is seeking a highly capable Ground Processing Hardware Engineer to support the design, integration, verification, and lifecycle management of ground processing hardware systems supporting mission operations. This role combines systems engineering, hardware development, integration and test, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure reliable, cost‑effective, and mission‑ready solutions.

Location and Compensation

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from concept development through integration, testing, operations, and disposal.
• Develop and manage system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and hardware specifications.
• Translate customer and system requirements into detailed subsystem requirements and define verification/validation methods.
• Support hardware design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and qualification to meet technical, cost, and schedule goals.
• Investigate hardware anomalies, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.
• Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and design evaluations to optimize performance, reliability, and cost.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience in systems engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience developing and managing system requirements, specifications, and interface definitions.
• Experience supporting hardware integration, verification, validation, and test activities.
• Experience developing technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ground systems, launch processing systems, space systems, satellite operations, or aerospace mission support infrastructure.
• Knowledge of networked hardware systems, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Experience with requirements management and model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
• Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, or commercial space programs.
